The tube cold plate consists of two key components, one is substrate , the other is a continuous copper or steel tube .There are generally three forms of combination between the bottom plate and the pipe, include buried pipe, welded pipe, double-sided clamp pipe. The Tubed Cold Plate is engineered as a cost effective and reliable solution for thermal management applications where liquid cooling of components is preferred over air. 


1、Buried Pipe Tube Cold Plate

Most of them are aluminum substrate buried copper pipe. First, the aluminum substrate is milled with CNC, then use a stamping machine to press the bent copper tube onto the aluminum substrate, then perform brazing and welding, and then process it into a water-cooled plate.

Buried Tube Process divided into two types: Shallow buried Pipes Process and Deep Buried Pipes Process :

Shallow buried Pipes Process,Press the copper tube into the groove inside the aluminum substrate to deform, and then apply a flying cut on the surface.

Deep Buried Pipes Process, inserting copper pipes into deep grooves inside aluminum substrates, the filler is high thermal conductivity epoxy resin. When the temperature difference requirement of the cooled device is not high, it can be installed on both sides. As the thickness of the copper tube is not subjected to secondary processing, and there is filler protection, it can provide application safety.

2、Welded Pipe Tube Cold Plate

Suitable for the combination of copper substrate and copper tube, in order to reduce the thickness of the plate and achieve weight reduction.

3、Double-sided Clamp Pipe Tube Cold Plate

There is a tube between two substrates, which is a simple and cost-effective technology. The combination can be aluminum plate+aluminum tube/copper tube/SUS tube.

2、Structure of cold plate types: Based on the structure of the liquid cooling system and whether it bears weight.

3、Design  of flow rate: Due to the large size of the water-cooled system, simulation analysis of the entire system is generally not conducted. Instead, the flow rate of the water-cooled radiator is set first, and then the water pump is matched based on the corresponding system flow resistance. After determining the total heat and physical properties of the working fluid, the flow rate and temperature rise are inversely proportional.
